Exciting Prospects

The past couple of weeks have been an exciting time.

Firstly, I have discovered work that I thought was lost forever. I seem to have saved some work to the Cloud which I had forgotten I had done, and only discovered it whilst working on my other – crafty – blog. This has pleased me somewhat, as I thought it was all lost forever after a certain child of mine stepped on, and completely ruined the netbook I had produced this work on! You would think I would learn from this and always back up my work. No! Well, I will try harder I suppose…….

Secondly, and perhaps more excitingly, I may be embarking on a collaboration. I responded to an ad from a fellow writer. She writes Scripts, and is apparently useless at prose. She wants to turn her scripts into e-books and wants someone to do that for her. Also, the marketing side of it.

I have offered my services! It is a long term project, as she has other scripts that she is working on that she wants developed too. It is still in it’s early stages, and it is not finalised yet, but, watch this space!

I apologise for having been awol. I have been incredibly busy with life, and writing. Hopefully I will have more news soon.

A Journey Through the List

What the heck. This blog may have been set up with the intention to blow my own trumpet (but if you heard me trying to blow in a trumpet, you would know how rubbish I am at it), but I can also point people in the general direction of helpfulness.

I have downloaded some apps to my Android smartphone. I won’t go into detail just yet. I don’t want to ruin my reputation before I have even got one.

But…..

The Writers Digest is a good place to look for all things useful and helpful. I downloaded their most current 101 best websites, and have made it a goal to try and visit one site a week. I have started that task, and will share my thoughts with you.

The very first suggested site was The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to come up with a winning terrible opening line. It seems it is open to anyone, as someone from the UK won, and someone from the West Indies. There are several categories to enter into, and there are ‘Dishonorable Mentions’ which are, in this case, probably a very good thing. You don’t seem to win anything, except for the actual winning. Head on over and have a look, and why not give it a go?

I will. Good Luck!
